Work 1 in (2.5 cm) in garter stitch (knit every row) ending with RS facing for next row. Change to MC and larger needles.** Proceed in stocking st until work from beg measures 22 (24-26-28) ins [56 (61-66-71) cm] ending with RS facing for next row. Cast off 22 (23-25-27) sts (shoulder).
Slip next 30 (32-32-32) sts onto a st holder (back neck).
Rejoin yarn and cast off rem 22 (23-25-27) sts (shoulder).
Front: Work from ** to ** as given for Back. Proceed in stocking st until work from beg measures 19 (21-23-25) ins
[48.5 (53.5-58.5-63.5) cm], ending with RS facing for next row.
Shape neck:
Next row: K32 (34-36-38). Turn. Leave rem 42 (44-46-48) sts on a st holder. ***Working on the 32 (34-36-38) sts, cast off 3 (4-4-4) sts at beg of row for neck edge.
Cast off 2 sts at neck edge every other row 2 (1-1-1) time(s).
Dec 1 st at neck edge every other row 3 (5-5-5) verdana.
22 (23-25-27) sts. Cont even until work from beg measures 22 (24-26-28) ins [56 (61-66-71) cm] ending with RS facing.

Cast off.*** Leave 10 sts on st holder for center front neck.
With RS facing, join MC to rem 32 (34-36-38) sts.
Work 2 rows even. Rep from *** to ***.
Sleeves: With smaller needles and A, cast on 40 (40-42-42) sts. Work 1 in (2.5 cm) in garter stitch ending with RS facing for next row. Change to larger needles and MC. Proceed in stocking st inc 1 st at beg and end of 5th, then every 4th row 12 (15-12-12) verdana. Then on every 6th row 1 (1-4-5) time(s). 68 (74-76-78) sts. Cont even until work from beg measures 12 (14-15-16) ins [30.5 (35.5-38-40.5) cm] ending with RS facing for next row. Cast off.
Neckband: Sew right shoulder seam. With RS facing, A and smaller size needles, pick up and knit 13 sts down left front neck. K10 from front st holder. Pick up and knit 13 sts up right front neck. K30 (32-32-32) sts from back neck st holder. 66 (68-68-68) sts. Work 1 in (2.5 cm) in garter st, ending with RS facing. Cast off.
To Finish: Sew left shoulder and neckband seam. Place markers 7½ (8-8¼-8¾) ins [19 (20-21-22) cm] down from shoulder seams on front and back side edges for sleeve placement. Sew on sleeves between markers. Sew side and sleeve seams.
