Sizes 8 mm (U.S. 11) and 10 mm (U.S. 15) knitting needles or
size needed to obtain tension. 10 yds [9.5 m] of matching
smooth yarn for finishing.

TENSION: 8 sts and 14 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in stocking st.

STITCH GLOSSARY
Loop = K1. Do not drop the original st off the left-hand needle.
yf. Wrap yarn around thumb. yb. Slip just made st back on lefthand
needle and K2tog - Loop made. Pull loop to RS of work.
yf = bring yarn to front of work.

FINISHING
Sew center back seam. Sew front seam to markers.

Hood: With larger needles, cast on 67 sts loosely.
Change to smaller needles and proceed in Loop st pat as given
for Left Side for 3 ins [7.5 cm], ending with RS facing for next
row. Work 7 rows in stocking st, then dec 1 st each end of
needle on next 4 rows, then every following alt row 3 times. 53
sts. Cont even until work from beg measures 7¾ ins [19.5 cm],
ending with RS facing for next row. Cast off 5 sts beg next 6
rows. Cast off rem 23 sts.

Ties: (Make 2). With larger needles, cast on 35 sts loosely.
Cast off. Sew ties at beg of neck shaping.
Sew cast off edge tog for back seam of Hood. Sew shaped edge
of Hood along neck edge, aligning front edges of Hood with front
opening and back seam of Hood with back seam of Poncho.
